I hope I don't make too much of a fool of my self...
Well, here goes. I only recently discovered the fandom, and until maybe 2-3 days ago didn't consider myself a furry. So now I ask, what is a fursona? I have a very general idea, but nothing beyond that.

Well a fursona is basically a furry that represents you. Depending on you, it can range from whatever you choose to it's your spirit animal and you connect with it because <insert reasons here>. Really it just comes down to what you want or how you feel about it I guess. And when I say represents you, I don't mean like Fox from Starfox or Renamon. I mean like "Grey wolf with such and such fur pattern and such and such etc." Kinda like my avatar though my avatar is rather loosely based on my fursona, but still.
It also depends how far you want to take it, some are fine with just picking an animal and leaving it at that, others maybe have some distinctive markings and leave it at that. Others, like me, have fun with it and go "wolf fox kitty mixture with black fur and red markings (undecided markings) red eyes, etc."

Here we are, my furst (ba dum psh. I love bad puns) fursona.
A black fox anthro, no other color, hazel eyes, some cat ancestry as well, hates rain. Always dressed in steampunk clothing, including a tophat.

Soooo...... Now that I have a fursona, what do I do with it? I'm a new furry, so I've seen the word around, but just been introduced to the general concept of it here.

You can do a lot of things with it. Try to draw it, RP with it, have it commissioned... or you don't have to do anything with it at all. It's just the furry representation of you, just have fun with it. Furry Smile

I've never really thought on what I might be... I was originally a fox, then a wolf.... I guess I'm just a wolf sized fox, not a folf, but a greater fox... I guess. To be specific a blue and white greater fox.

My fursona is a big beutiful green dragon, with smooth green scales of a variety of patterns. I must admit, i am a bit on the round side, but people keep telling me it's one of my best features besides my soft smile and deep green eyes that you can stare at for hours at a time. =D

First person I've ever seen to have a bunny fursona. If I may, why exactly did you choose yours?
On that subject, I chose a fox because to me they represent cleverness and wit, as well as intelligence, things I value highly.
